Chrissy and I on a really bad boat tour of starved rock. The tour Guide basically pointed out people fishing and described erosion as "falling dirt", which I guess is true. The funniest part was when she mistold the story of how starved rock got it's name, and used "like" for every other word. When someone asked her what year it happened she said "like, a really long time ago, like, over a hundred years".
The actual answer is 1763. After supposedly assassinating the chief of the Pontiac tribe, the Illiniwek fled to the rock to escape the vengeful Potawatomi tribe, The Potawatomi surrounded the rock forcing the Illniwek to starve on the rock.
We sarcastically give the boat tour two thumbs up. (which in sincere terms is two thumbs down)
After our historic indignation we went to one of my favorite historical landmarks:
