My daily routine

A time line of the mundanely spectacular:

8:00: Get up and go to the EL. This is exactly where I stand on the platform every morning (from my POV). It's close to the end so there are less people trying to claim a seat.

9:00 - 9:15: Step into my luxurious office.

9:15 - 10:00 - I tilt my head to a 90 degree angle and stare out my window at my gorgeous view. It helps me clear my mind for the day.

11:00-12:00: I talk to my work friends for awhile.

12:30 - 1:30: Eat and explore!

4:00 - 5:00: Go upstairs and stare out the window. When I took this it had just stopped raining and the fog was so cool. That's the Natural History Museum and the Adler Planetarium.

Here are those pictures

It's been awhile since my last picture post. A lot of crazy events have taken place:

Above: We went to our friend Karen's play which was really fun.

Above: Afterwards we went to the Kit Kat club in boystown. That was really fun too.

Above: The next night was Seans Birthday party. It was really emotional, but really fun.

Last night I played poker for a whiskey ad and fell asleep. No more explanation than that.
I have so many great pictures that no one can see yet because I lost the cord that connects my camera to my computer. Oh well, it just makes them more historic. I will add in pictures that I find online that I think are relavent to the subject Im talking about. Like this one...

So the CSC has had a gig opening for the Trash Town Boys, and it has totally reaffirmed my love for everyone on that team. Everyone is so supportive of each other, and I just feel so comfortable playing and dancing with them. I just want to move into a cabin in the woods with them, and when we run out of food I want them all to eat me alive.

I used the grill my mom got me for my birthday and we had some really tasty hamburgers. It was the perfect day for it, 70 degrees and sunny, then the next day we hit 40 again. Makes me want to complain about it...

But instead ill post this hilarious clip art...

I love clip art so much...

I call this one "Facilitating the Handshake"

Chicago on pennies a day

Im sure a lot of you reading this blog are thinking "Chicago sounds great but it must be super expensive." Hmmm, you have a good point, but:

Case 1: Village Discount Thrift in Roscoe Villiage

Anthony Clutches his gently used items.
I found this amazing gem!
Our total on 5 vests, 3 shirts and a pair of pants was 8 dollars.
Case 2: Artemios Bakery in Wrigleyville

Guess how much these tasty pastries cost me:
...
The answer is 3.10.
So if you eat pastries all the time and wear other peoples discarded clothes, you can live on pennies a day.

So the company I bought my new camera from canceled my order because the camera is now discontinued. This may be more than a mere canceled order, but a conspiracy.

Fact: When I first moved to Chicago I used to work at Ritz Camera (Ritz and Wolf camera are the same company)

Fact: I resigned the day I got a new job. The higher-ups threw a fit.

Fact: WolfCamera.com is where I ordered the camera. I happen to know from a pretty good source that they have plenty in stock and that the model is not discontinued.

But despite the corporate machine trying to keep me down, I fixed my old camera for the time being. Which is for the best because I keep losing money.

Nice Weekend

Friday we had our last reading... Kind of sad. But there is other stuff going on that should keep our group together: a potential sketch show, the New class, and just plain friendship.

Saturday I watched VCU lose to Pittsburgh. I was a little sad about it, but I am still so happy that we eliminated Duke. Plus VCU is growing more and more as a school, which means more money, which means they should have an even better team next year. Who knows. It's weird, because I have more school spirit now than I ever did when I went there.

Here is a picture that I find very amusing:

ever feeling grumpy, this site will cheer you up.

Go RAMS!!!!

Amazing, totally amazing! Such a great game, and for me a major emotional roller coaster.

We were at Leona's (a relatively quiet sit-down restaurant) for my belated birthday dinner and the game was on. Right near the end I got super excited, and started to tear up. When they won I broke down a little. AMAZING!

AMAZING!

What makes this event even more sweet is that I dislike Duke intensely.

Go Rams!

My new eyes

So I just bought a digital camera. Here it is:

It got mixed reviews from different websites, but it was cheap and I really liked my last Nikon. From now on I will be able to show you my world, through my eyes, which means you will get to see a lot of this:

Also, I explored the basement of the building I work at. It is amazing. Secret passageways! Im serious! Basically it is an underused jewish childrens museum, and there are little passageways that lead you down long corridors. They usually lead to to other parts of the museum but Im hoping one of them leads here:

So here are some pictures from our party Saturday:

Michael Molly and Brian after a hard day at work.

Me napping like an old man.

Me dreaming of something hilarious.

Guys seriously, look how funny I am. No come on. Look over here. Guys?

In other news, I was coming home from a show last night and saw some friends playing poker in my neighbors apartment. I joined in and lost 40 bucks in a couple of hours.

Chrissy's response to this news:
"So the next time I see them I can ask what flavor a red headed sucker is?"

Big Weekend

So this weekend was pretty amazing for me, It made me realize how lucky I am to have such kind and supportive people around me.

Thursday: In the mail I got birthday packages from my family, and I have to say I made out pretty darn well. Lot's of Cash Money, and a Propane Grill!!!! I'm super psyched about the grill thing because the weather just started to get warmer and the opportunities for back porch cookouts are going to increase by a billion times infinity.

Friday: We had our project writing reading theater in which we read Brian's script which I really really loved. It's so hilarious, I can't wait to see it made into a movie.

Saturday: Saturday night was epic. To celebrate the last "project writers reading theater reading" (which is actually next week) , the class went to a bar called Parrot's and we had a semi-formal karaoke party. I will post pictures when the become available to me. In the mean time Molly has some up on her blog.

The group got me a really nice card to, I almost cried, but I'm too much of a man to do that.

Supposedly Chrissy (my girlfriend) and Brett (my neighbor & improv friend) had a heated argument over whether or not the entenmann's cakes we got on sale at their outlet store were a good deal. $5.10 for two cakes and English muffins. Chrissy was very excited about it and Brett burst her bubble. It was hilarious.

Sunday: We had an IO show, for the "freeze tag" portion of the show they called me out to be in every scene. I'm so terrible at freeze, because I think my mind and body take the term "freeze" to mean "stop being funny". Anyway, it was hilarious to me, because it was super awkward, and awkward = funny to me.

Oh yeah, Chrissy got me an appointment for a professional massage on Thursday, so after that anyone has permission to call me "Limber Louie".

Purdy Park

I had a conversation with a coworker today about the park outside our office. According to her, directly outside our building is where the Summer Dance sessions are. Basically they are weekly free dance lessons for anyone.

So, count me in....

Doing Reviews

Here are some short reviews I have of things:

Tears of the Black Tiger. Thinking back on this movie I loved it more and more, mainly because of how unapologetically weird it is. Other words to describe it are: Funny, Violent, Sad, Epic. So I give it 3 out of 4 kiwis.

Extras. I'm about a year late on this train, but this show is so darn funny. This solidifies my belief that Ricky Gervais is a comedy profit send from hilarity heaven. I just watched an episode where David Bowie makes up a song in a bar about how pathetic Ricky's character is. Amazing! I give it 4 out of 4 candy corns.

Inland Empire. David Lynch's new movie came to Chicago a few weeks ago and I got to see the premiere. David Lynch was actually there, which made the experience super awesome for me. However, I was not in love with the movie. There was no discernible plot after the first 25 minutes, which made the remaining 2 and a half hours a major challenge. If you love Lynch, watch it, if not you will want your time back. I give the movie 2 out of 5 lug nuts.

But the experience was a 8 out of 9 barettas.
